Shelf

Shelf is a detail of furniture for storing items. The shelves at home not only make a handy place to store the belongings, it also allows to display the pieces. They make a lovely home accent. A good shelf is the one which is strong, easy to paint, inexpensive, comfortable. Few people are even particular about the shelf bars and strips. Shelves placed in different places give a different look to the house. But they should be placed at the right positions based on principles of architecture. The architectural shelves are much popular now a day. These usually come with locking system which includes range of brackets, book, and shelf ends.

Types of shelves:

Basically two types of shelves; they are adjustable shelves and non-adjustable shelves. The adjustable shelves usually supported by metal brackets. Other types are wooden shelves, decorative shelves, wall shelves, corner shelves, sliding shelves, clock shelves, and architectural shelves. Wall shelves, as the name suggests they can be situated in any place, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, or in the living room. The shelves in the living room hold showpieces. The corner shelves are used to hold stereo speakers or cassettes, small cameras or projectors. Or it can be used to hold pots and plants.

Uses of shelves:

When space is at a minimum the shelves can be used. Shelves can be used for various purposes such to store clothes, books, bags, utensils and many other things. The everyday humdrum can be escaped from a wall shelf. The wall shelf can be used to display the home accessories like books framed photos, and collectibles. The architectural shelves are suitable for hospitals, dental laboratories, clinics, laboratories, medical research facilities, veterinary clinics, schools, offices, libraries, universities, local authority buildings, show rooms, store rooms, and other commercial facilities. The architectural shelves inhibit bacterial growth. The adjustable open shelf can be used to store audio or video media. The edges of the shelves can sides can be decorated to make them more attractive. Non-adjustable shelves are normally used in closets, work areas, attics, basements, and other similar places. Usually these are designed to carry heavy loads and adjustable shelves hold small items.
