Fertilizers for beautifying the backyard garden

The beauty of a backyard often is captivating and mesmerizing. It gives a feel as if one is resting in the laps of the nature forgetting that it is his or her house. However to create such beauty requires proper care of the backyard, especially the lawn and the garden. One of the main aspects towards this care is proper fertilizing of the lawn. Fertilizers play a crucial in a healthy and green growth of the lawn and other plants on the garden. There is a specific time of fertilizing, and if followed accurately one can grow heavenly beauty in his backyard.

Types of fertilizer

Mainly there are two types of fertilizers, organic and chemical fertilizers

Organic fertilizer

Organic fertilizers are as the name suggest only contain natural ingredients. Different types of organic fertilizers are available with distinct nitrogen contents. Distinct types of fertilizers are available for different types of grass and plants. These fertilizers supplement essential nutrients and nitrogen content to the grass and plants so that they grow healthier and greener. They help to increase the sustaining power of the plant thus helping them to fight pests and other disease. These fertilizers can also be made at home, however it is better to buy those available in the market as they are mixed with the right proportion. Organic fertilizers are eco friendly and safe for kids and animals as they are free from all kinds hazardous chemicals found in chemical fertilizers.

Chemical fertilizers

Chemical fertilizers are mainly prepared using chemicals such as urea. Application of chemical fertilizer requires great care as they also contain chemicals that can be dangerous to the skin and even poisonous. It is advisable to have a limited application of chemical fertilizers as they also reduce the quality of the soil in the long run.

It is always better to fertilize the lawn and garden following the yearly calendar. For a good lawn at least fertilize the lawn twice in a year. Proper fertilizing greatly helps in growing green and healthy garden thus enhancing the beauty of the backyard.
